The High Priority Infrastructure (HPI) Grants Program provides targeted funding for infrastructure projects that improve Tasmania’s waste and resource recovery capacity, helping divert priority materials from landfill and advances the goals of the Tasmanian Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy.

Under Round 3, a total of $10.007 million was allocated to support a range of infrastructure projects that will help the state transition to a circular economy.

Individual grants between $50,000 and $500,000 were available for eligible projects that could demonstrate:

  • a clear improvement in diversion of materials from landfill

  • a clear improvement in the avoidance, reduction, reuse, repair, recycling, and recovery of materials in accordance with the Waste Hierarchy

  • prioritisation of the Tasmanian circular economy, related end markets, and the broader Tasmanian economy

Funding for the HPI Grants Program is sourced from the landfill levy and reinvested into resource recovery projects across Tasmania that help reduce waste, increase recycling and reuse, and recover valuable materials that would otherwise end up in landfill.

The 30 successful applicants under Round 3 of the HPI Grants Program were:
