High Priority Infrastructure Grants - Round 3 Announcement

​​​​​The Tasmanian Waste and Resource Recovery Board and Tasmanian Government are pleased to announce Round 3 of the High Priority Infrastructure (HPI) Grants Program.

Applications will open on Wednesday 26 November 2025.

The Program supports infrastructure development that achieves waste minimisation and encourages resource recovery across industry, local government, community and not-for-profits.


Total funding is $5,000,000, with grants for individual projects ​​from $50,000 to $500,000, excluding GST.
Unlike the previous round, HPI Round 3​ project eligibility is not determined by ​annual material volumes.

Projects must tangibly support the following grant objectives:

  • a clear improvement in diversion of materials from landfill ​

  • a clear improvement in the avoidance, reduction, reuse, repair, recycling, and recovery of materials in accordance with the ​​Waste Hierarchy 

  • ​prioritisation of the Tasmanian circular economy, related end markets, and th​e broader Tasmanian economy
