Extension of the Draft Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy Public Consultation Period
The draft Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy (the Strategy) was released for public consultation on 22 November 2022 by the Minister for Environment and Climate Change, Roger Jaensch MP, and the Chair of the Tasmanian Waste and Resource Recovery Board, the Honourable Pam Allan.
During recent briefings on the Strategy, it has became apparent that it would be difficult for local government in particular, to provide feedback on the Strategy within the proposed timeframe.
Ensuring adequate time is available for feedback on the Strategy is critical for achieving the Board’s vision for Tasmania - A place where nothing is wasted. Following discussions between the Minister and the Tasmanian Waste and Resource Recovery Board, the deadline for providing feedback on the Strategy has now been extended until Friday 24 February 2023.
