WRR Board CEO Stepping Down

The WRR Board hereby announces that Hugh Christie is stepping down from the role of CEO in December 2024.
The Board would like to thank Hugh for his support of the Board and for managing the team within NRE Tas that supports the Board in delivering its objectives.
Hugh's tenure saw the delivery of a number of key strategic pieces including the release and promotion of the State's first Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy 2023-2026 and the successful release of the Board's first major levy reinvestment program – the High Priority Investment Program. Hugh actively engaged with industry and Government on a broad range of programs and issues. We wish Hugh all the best for the future.
Holly Mackey from NRE Tas commences as acting CEO on 6 January while a recruitment process is progressed. Holly comes with private sector and government experience, with her most recent role as Director Strategic Projects and Policy in NRE Tas overseeing the roll out of the Container Refund Scheme.
The Board looks forward to working with Holly, to further deliver on the Tasmanian Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy 2023-2026.
